Laconia has been the name of the south eastern part of the Peloponnese from old ages on.  
It is divided in four counties, i.e. Lakedemonos, Epidaurus Limiras, Gythion and Itilo with Sparta being the capital.

This area surrounding the Bay of Laconia fascinates by its beautiful scenery and magnificent beaches.

All of Laconias trade concentrates on the port of Gythion.
